Case study 06 / Social discovery
MatchMap
Turning nearby discovery into a real plan to meet.

The product
MatchMap connects location-aware discovery with matching, availability, conversation, and real-world meetup planning.
The product needed to move people from browsing nearby possibilities to making a clear plan without losing context between each stage.
The challenge
Discovery products often become disconnected funnels. Location produces a list, matching produces a connection, chat starts another thread, and planning happens somewhere else.
The challenge was to make those moments feel like one continuous journey while keeping availability and meetup details current.
01 / Product thinking
Connecting discovery with intent
Location-aware results were only the beginning. Profiles, availability, and matching signals helped people understand who was relevant and what could happen next.
The flow was designed to reduce the gap between finding someone and starting a useful conversation.

02 / Product thinking
Carrying context into the meetup
Chat and meetup planning stayed connected so a conversation could become a concrete time and place without moving into an unrelated tool.
Clear states kept both sides aware of what had been suggested, accepted, or changed.

The outcome
One product, connected from experience to operations.
MatchMap turns several separate social interactions into one connected product journey.
People can discover, match, talk, and plan with the context of each step carried forward into the next.
